About the Event
Event Details
Autumn has a back-to-school feel, even for those of us long past it. It’s a natural time to step back and ask where product work is heading, and where you want to be heading with it.
This evening brings together three people who see the product industry from very different angles:
- Balaji Gopalan, Freelance Product Consultant, who works across a range of companies and stages and sees how product teams are actually operating right now
- Michael Hashizume, Product Recruiter at GuruLink, who sees what hiring managers are asking for, what candidates are running into, and where the market is moving
Together, they’ll look at what’s actually shifting in product right now: how teams are being structured, what companies expect from product people, and how AI is changing the day-to-day work.
From there, the conversation turns to what that means for you, whether you’re growing in your current role, thinking about your next move, or looking for ways to keep sharpening your craft in a market that looks different than it did a year ago.
What you'll take away
- A clearer picture of how product roles and teams are changing right now.
- What employers are actually looking for when hiring product talent in the current market.
- How AI is changing the day-to-day work of product people, and where human judgment still matters.
- A better sense of which skills are worth investing in as you think about your next role or level.
- Perspectives from both inside product organizations and the recruiting market.
- An evening with product people from across the GTA navigating many of the same career questions.
