Founded in March 2001, the Toronto Product Management Association (TPMA) is a not-for-profit organization that facilitates learning, mentoring, and networking opportunities for product managers across Greater Toronto Area.

Helping product people in the Greater Toronto Area navigate the complexities of a career in product management and the challenges people experience as they start their product career, advance their product career, become a product leader and grow as a product leader.

As the Volunteer Engagement Manager, you will lead the development and execution of our volunteer engagement strategy, driving initiatives that foster a connected volunteer community. You’ll be responsible for creating and managing a dynamic engagement program, building a dedicated sub-community, and establishing metrics to monitor participation and effectiveness. Your role includes implementing feedback mechanisms, coordinating engagement activities such as Monthly Volunteer Spotlights and recognizing volunteer contributions. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the volunteer experience and driving meaningful connections within our community.

Term: June ’26 – June ’27

Time Commitments:  On average 5 hours a month (some variability depending on events or campaigns)

What you’ll do and love doing:

  1. Develop and execute engagement strategies: Create innovative approaches to increase volunteer involvement and satisfaction, including themed events, networking opportunities, Monthly Volunteer Spotlights etc.
  2. Foster participation and sense of belonging: Develop a subcommunity within our broader volunteer network to help volunteers connect, share experiences, and engage with each other. This will create opportunities for learning, networking and strengthening relationships, enhancing their overall sense of belonging and involvement.
  3. Cultivate relationships with key volunteers: Identify and build strong relationships with high-impact volunteers to leverage their influence and support within the community.
  4. Coordinate with other departments: Collaborate with teams across the organization to align volunteer engagement activities with broader organizational goals and initiatives.
  5. Manage volunteer recognition programs: Design and implement recognition and reward systems to celebrate volunteer achievements and milestones.
  6. Analyze and report on engagement outcomes: Regularly review engagement data, prepare reports, and present findings to leadership to inform strategic decisions and improvements.
  7. Establish and manage feedback loops: Design and implement various feedback mechanisms, such as surveys and direct outreach, to gather insights from volunteers. Use this feedback to continuously refine engagement strategies, address concerns and improve the overall volunteer experience.
  8. Stay current with best practices: Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in volunteer management and engagement to continuously improve program effectiveness.
