Founded in March 2001, the Toronto Product Management Association (TPMA) is a not-for-profit organization that facilitates learning, mentoring, and networking opportunities for product managers across Greater Toronto Area.

Helping product people in the Greater Toronto Area navigate the complexities of a career in product management and the challenges people experience as they start their product career, advance their product career, become a product leader and grow as a product leader.
The role
As an In-Person Event Volunteer, you will be the face of our organization at our live events, playing a key role in ensuring a smooth and engaging experience for all attendees. With a friendly and outgoing demeanor, you will assist in various event-related tasks, from welcoming guests to supporting event logistics. Your role will involve staffing different stations, helping with setup and teardown, and contributing to the overall success of our in-person events. If you have special skills such as photography, you will have the opportunity to use those talents to capture memorable moments at our events.

Time commitments
Must be available during events 3-4 hours (pre/post event) per month. We host in-person events last Tuesday of each month, starting September 2024. Required to attend at minimum 3 events per term.
What you’ll do:
- Provide feedback: Offer constructive feedback on event operations and attendee experiences to help improve future events and enhance overall effectiveness.
- Staff event stations: Assist with key roles at in-person events, including managing front desk check-in to ensure a warm and efficient welcome for attendees.
- Support setup and teardown: Help with the preparation and dismantling of event spaces, ensuring that all materials and equipment are properly organized and handled.
- Assist with event tasks: Perform various tasks as needed during events, such as collecting ballots during board elections, to ensure that all activities run smoothly and efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service: Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor while interacting with guests, addressing any questions or concerns they may have to enhance their event experience.
- Capture event moments: Utilize photography skills to document key moments and highlights of the event, contributing to post-event content and promotional materials.
- Assist with crowd management: Help manage attendee flow and engagement to ensure a positive and organized event experience for all participants.
- Support event chair and officer: Collaborate with event chair, officer and other event team members to execute event plans, keep the space tidy, respond to any unexpected issues as they arise, and ensure that all operational needs are met.
- Promote event activities: Engage with attendees to promote event activities, encourage participation, and create a vibrant and interactive atmosphere.
