Founded in March 2001, the Toronto Product Management Association (TPMA) is a not-for-profit organization that facilitates learning, mentoring, and networking opportunities for product managers across Greater Toronto Area.

The role
As the In-Person Event Speaker Liaison you are responsible for creating an exceptional speaker experience from initial outreach through post-event follow-up. Your role ensures speakers feel valued, well-prepared, and connected to the TPMA community while fostering long-term relationships that benefit both speakers and our membership.

Time commitments
On average, 5-7 hours every month. Additional time during peak event seasons. Must be available for live events.
What you’ll do:
- Pre-Event Speaker Onboarding
- Serve as primary point of contact for confirmed speakers
- Conduct welcome calls to introduce TPMA, event format, and expectations
- Coordinate technical requirements (AV needs, presentation setup, remote capabilities)
- Provide event logistics including venue details, timing, and agenda
- Review presentation content for alignment with audience expectations
- Facilitate speaker meet-and-greets with TPMA leadership when appropriate
- Event Day Support
- Arrive early to greet speakers and prep them on timing
- Provide on-site support throughout the event
- Facilitate networking opportunities between speakers and attendees
- Ensure speakers have access to refreshments and comfortable staging areas
- Address any real-time issues or concerns that arise
- Post-Event Follow-Up & Community Integration
- Send thank-you messages within 48 hours of the event
- Provide speakers with event photos, videos, and presentation recordings
- Share attendee feedback and engagement metrics
- Introduce speakers to relevant TPMA committees and special interest groups
- Invite speakers to join TPMA's speaker alumni network
- Explore opportunities for speakers to contribute to future events or initiatives
- Maintain ongoing relationship through quarterly check-ins
- Community Champion Development
- Identify potential TPMA ambassadors among speaker alumni
- Encourage speakers to promote TPMA events within their professional networks
