This session is generously hosted by Pragmatic Marketing.

The frenetic pace of change in technology means that the half-life of your products (and in some cases your company) is shorter than ever. In today’s environment, innovation isn’t just a buzzword, it is a requirement. Companies are constantly scrambling to find the next big thing.

Why then does innovation remain so elusive; seeming to belong to the genius few rather than the masses? Simple: we are systematically and regularly killing innovation within our own organizations. That’s right, businesses of all shapes and sizes, leaders of all levels of experience are falling again and again into one (or more) of three primary traps.

Join us as we use industry insights and survey data to illuminate just what those traps are and how you can avoid falling into them within your organization to deliver truly remarkable products to your market.

Our speaker, Kirsten Butzow, brings an executive's perspective to her roles as a speaker and Pragmatic Marketing instructor. She has 20 years of experience leading technology companies, including Fujitsu, Pearson and Blackboard, spearheading product management and marketing for product portfolios with revenues of $150 million.

    • 6:15 PM - 8:30 PM
    • Room 310- Metro Hall - 55 John St, Downtown Toronto

How attractive is your personal brand? Can you draw in the people – the rock star employees, employers and clients – who could make an enormous difference in your effort to share your unique gifts with the world and fulfill your highest potential? Can you command respect from senior stakeholders, get team buy-in for your strategies, and effectively align other people’s perceptions with the delivery of job outcomes?

The reality is this: if we want to do any sort of work with people of high accomplishment, we ourselves must exude big-time brand strength – regardless of whether we work for ourselves or for someone else.

Join us on Tuesday November 29th at 6:15pm where Coin Branding President Andris Pone will share some practical insights on how Product Managers can build and improve their personal brand. Presented concepts are derived from his 13 years of intellectual property earned by building brands for corporations including Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Canadian Tire, for employees at Sun Life Financial, BMO, RBC and for many individual entrepreneurs. Attendees will get an overview of the exact work his clients do – work that’s been battle tested and refined over the course of hundreds of client engagements.

    You will learn:

    • The secrets behind the powerful personal brands of people like Nelson Mandela, Marie Henein, Justin Trudeau – and even Rob Ford
    • The four key elements to include in your personal brand foundation
    • How to bring that foundation to life in a bio and LinkedIn page that stands out from 99% of everyone else
    • That the most crucial thing about personal branding isn’t your foundation, but how you use it.

We’ll also have time for smaller breakout discussions where you can learn to apply these principles to your organization as well as your own career.

Andris Pone, MBA is President of Coin Branding and co-author of the #1 Globe and Mail bestselling Brand: It Ain’t the Logo. He appears as a branding expert on CBC’s The National, CBC Radio One, the National Post and the Globe and Mail.

Andris believes that every person has the right to experience the thrill of sharing his or her unique gifts with others.  As a world-class wordsmith, he has 13 years of experience helping organizations and individuals express precisely what those differentiating factors are – by building compelling brand foundations and names for clients at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Canadian Tire, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Sun Life Financial, RBC Wealth Management, BMO Nesbitt Burns and non-profits including The National Ballet of Canada and the Ontario Hospital Association.

Andris graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Political Science from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax and also holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business.

We are expecting this to be a popular session.
